    The National Resource Directory(NRD) contains helpful resources for military children and their families including those on counseling, youth services, nutrition, special needs support, community programs, summer camps, recreational activities, scholarshipfunds and many more. 

    A tri-agency initiative among the U.S. Departments of Defense, Labor and Veterans Affairs, NRD.gov provides access to thousands of programs and services at the national, state and local levelson topics such as family and caregiver support, benefits and compensation,health care access, education and training, employment, housing and transportation.

  • JB-MDL School Liaison Support

    The School Liaison Services provides military families with a wide variety of resources to facilitate military youth education transitions. School Liaisons assist by educating parents on the local school system policies, procedures, programs and schedules. They also help with:

    • Coordinating education transition-related resources and points of contact within school and community.
    •  Addressing issues with youth registration in the local school system.
    • Supplying resource materials on primary, secondary and post-secondary education.

    Education, relocation, parenting, stress - you name it - Military OneSource is here to help you with just about any need.  Available by phone or online, our free service is provided by the Department of Defense for active-duty, Guard, and Reserve service members and their families. The service is completely private and confidential, with few exceptions.

  • SOAR

    This on-line program provides students, parents and teachers the standards in all 50 states and DoD schools overseas.  SOAR’s focus is on math, reading, and language arts for students in grades 3-12.  It helps parents manage their children’s education with cutting edge technology.

    Students can take a test on any of the state learning standards, receive immediate feedback, and be directed to a tutorial that will improve their skills, where needed.  Parents can monitor the progress of their child from anywhere in the world.  In addition parents are provided with resource materials that will assist their child in areas where they may need help.

  • Military Impacted Schools Association

    Formed in 1986 in Omaha, Nebraska, MISA works on funding, legislation, partnerships and programs for military families on the move.  MISA conducts workshops for educators and provides resources on connectedness, building resilience, military life, transition, and deployment.
     
    Education is an important quality of life program for military families.  MISA partners with the Department of Defense, National Military Family Association, and military leaders to ensure that all military children are afforded a quality education.  MISA works with local school districts and commanders to highlight best practices and partnerships that can further meet the needs of military families.
